Canadian university closed due to Corona, demand for refund of money of students returned from abroad

Some students who returned from abroad on Tuesday gheraoed a private IELTS center at Ranjit Avenue in Amritsar, Punjab. He has raised a demand from the administration to take action against the IELTS center and refund their money. After getting information about the protest, the police also reached the spot and interacted with the students.

Some students started protesting outside the IELTS center named IDP on Ranjit Avenue in Amritsar on Tuesday. These students are talking about refunding the money from the center owner. Students told that they were sent abroad by this center, but due to Corona, the university itself was closed. Because of which he had to come back. As soon as the information was received, the police also reached the spot and interacted with the students.

Other institutes refunded the money

Students told that due to the closure of the university, students of other institutes have also come back, but their money has been refunded. This institute is not returning their money. The students told that the IDP Institute had taken Rs 9.90 lakh from them to send them to Canada. But when they have been sent back, they are not refunding the money, whereas other institutes have refunded the full amount of the students.

Talking to institute owners

SHO Nishan Singh, who reached the spot, said that he had got information about the students protesting. After which the conversation was held with the students. On the other hand, talks are being held with the manager and owner of the institute. Soon a solution will be found after talking to both the sides.
