Majithia did not appear in Mohali court

The veteran Akali leader trapped in the drugs case did not get relief from the court. Mohali Court has extended his judicial custody till May 4. Now he will have to stay in Patiala Central Jail. Majithia himself was to appear in the Mohali court today but later the court heard the matter through video conferencing. During the last hearing, he had told the threat of life from terrorists and gangsters. Majithia alleged that he has been shifted to the general barracks. Regarding which the court had called for a reply from the jail management. The jail superintendent had denied threat to Majithia. The court had reserved its decision.
Akali Dal claims: Majithia on target of terrorists and gangsters
Akali leader advocate Arshdeep Kler claimed that there are intelligence reports that Akali leaders are on target of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), Khalistan Zindabad Force (KJF) and gangsters. Majithia surrendered on the orders of the Supreme Court and was sent to Sangrur Jail. However, from there he was sent to Patiala Jail citing security.
There was a ruckus on changing the jail superintendent
Earlier, there has been an uproar over the replacement of the Superintendent of Patiala Central Jail. After the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, Jail Minister Harjot Bains had visited the jail. After this he replaced Shivraj Singh. In his place, Sucha Singh was put as a jailer. Pictures of Sucha Singh with Sukhbir Badal surfaced a few days back. On which the opponents raised questions.
Majithia did not get bail
Drugs case was registered against Bikram Majithia by the previous Congress government as soon as the elections approached. He is accused of aiding and dealing with international drug smugglers. This case has been registered on the basis of the report of the Special Task Force. In this, Majithia did not get bail from the lower court and from the High Court to the Supreme Court. After which he surrendered on 24 February, after which he is in jail.
Mann government has changed SIT
The government of CM Bhagwant Mann has replaced the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the matter. The new team will work under the supervision of IG Gursharan Singh Sandhu. While the head of the SIT, IPS officer S. Rahul has been created. The team consists of AIG Ranjit Singh Dhillon, DSP Raghuveer Singh and DSP Amarpreet Singh. The previous SIT was formed under the leadership of AIG Balraj Singh. On whom the Akali Dal had accused of revenge. There was also a controversy regarding the promotion of his son Princepreet Singh.
